Sarah Vacca returns with a new role

Atkinson Family Practice is excited to welcome back Sarah Vacca, PA-C as a provider.  Once the Clinical Supervisor at AFP, she’ll be returning to work as a Provider in the new Northampton office.  Originally from Reno, Nev., Sarah recently completed the requirements to receive her Physician Assistant Degree from Springfield College.

Sarah is excited to be back as a provider in a collaborative family practice setting.  “As a new grad, it’s nice to be in a supportive place like AFP.  It’s not just a job, it’s like a family within the job.”  This energy also shows outside of the workplace; “Everyone seems like they are interested in peoples’ lives outside of work and the atmosphere itself is more open and welcoming than the ‘regular’ type of office.”

As a Family Medicine Physician Assistant, Sarah will provide care to all ages including Pediatrics, Gynecology and Geriatrics.  Sarah looks forward to providing preventative medical care as well. This includes interest in starting a walking group with both staff and patients.  When asked about the benefits of walking, Sarah says it, “is not only beneficial for cardiovascular health, it’s also great for mental health and mindfulness.”

“I hope to bring positive, supportive energy as well as skills and knowledge to both patients and staff and a focus on preventative medicine.”  Between the PA program and the new job, Sarah has been able to stay in Western Massachusetts, a region which she has grown to love.  In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outside, and playing with dogs.

AFP will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the Northampton office on June 9th, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.  The new location will officially open for business on June 17th, 2019.
